The Dr. Joseph W. Sims Scholarship
Esteemed Graduate,
The Sims and Coope families extend their warmest congratulations on the momentous occasion of your high school graduation—a truly commendable achievement. We are equally delighted to acknowledge your interest in the Dr. Joseph W. Sims Scholarship.
Dr. Joseph W. Sims dedicated over four decades to the field of education, commencing as a High School French Teacher before advancing to roles such as Junior High School Principal and Community College Vice-President. His philosophy underscored the value of education and the pursuit of knowledge, while also recognizing the supreme importance of wisdom—a divine gift.
Scholarship Application Criteria:
Active membership in Christ the King Bible Fellowship by the applicant or their parent/guardian.
Maintenance of a minimum “B” grade point average.
Acceptance and enrollment in a college for the upcoming September term or commitment to military service.
Availability to attend a recognition ceremony on Sunday, June 23, 2024, if awarded the scholarship.
Submission of two letters of recommendation, with at least one authored by a member of the Christian faith. Please forward these to connieasims@yahoo.com.
Composition of a concise yet thorough essay detailing your qualifications for the scholarship award.
Application Deadline:
All applications must be submitted no later than Wednesday, June 16, 2024, accompanied by the requisite documentation.
